SKILLSOOP’s client operates a highly strategic and integrated procurement function, serving as a cornerstone in ensuring a secure, sustainable, and reliable supply of raw materials and services to support global operations.
We are seeking a Global Category Lead – Contract Manufacturing, a critical leadership role responsible for managing complex, multi-regional supply chains associated with contract manufacturing partners worldwide. This role will drive strategic procurement initiatives, foster cross-functional collaboration, and cultivate robust supplier relationships to support operational efficiency and business growth.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Category Leadership: Develop and implement global commercial category strategies in alignment with business objectives, identifying contract manufacturers that support long-term supply chain resilience and new product development (NPD) pipelines. Target >95% OTIF performance over a 2–3-year horizon.
- Process Optimization: Lead process re-engineering initiatives to streamline global sourcing and onboarding of contract manufacturing partners.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Oversee negotiations and establish sustainable commercial agreements with global contract manufacturing vendors for the consistent supply of finished goods.
- Supply Chain Risk Management: Monitor and proactively manage geopolitical, market, and operational risks affecting supply and commercial terms. Develop contingency plans to enhance supply chain resilience.
- Cost Optimization: Leverage data and category insights to deliver year-over-year cost savings of 5%, enabling more accurate forecasting and maximizing margin expansion in growth markets.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain and develop comprehensive reporting tools to support S&OP, Monthly Business Reviews, Executive Reviews, and strategic decision-making.
- Sustainability & Regulatory Compliance: Partner with the Group Sustainability team to ensure vendor adherence to ESG standards, modern slavery regulations, APCO compliance, and other regional regulatory requirements including Incoterms and safety standards.
- Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated experience in global procurement and contract manufacturing supply chain management.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across operations, finance, and logistics.
- Strong negotiation skills with a strategic mindset toward long-term supplier partnerships.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and sustainability frameworks affecting contract manufacturing globally.
